A practical setup sequence
A workable setup is usually found in stages. Start flat, settle the distance and splay, then introduce the lowest tenting setting.
Move the halves apart gradually until the upper arms can stay relaxed. Rotate each half so the keys line up with the forearms. Add 6° of tenting and use that setting for a normal work block before considering 10°.
Recheck the mouse or trackpad, desk height, and chair position at the same time. Tenting cannot compensate for a pointing device that is too far away or a desk that forces the shoulders upward. Persistent discomfort calls for a broader workstation review and, when appropriate, professional advice.
